This Level 2 qualification provides you with a range of plaster skimming skills and knowledge. You will also develop an understanding of the health and safety requirements and an understanding of the requirements for self-employment.
Duration - The course will take up to six weeks to complete and will include a final assessment to ensure candidates are ready to undertake skimming work on-site.
This qualification also supports progression to further learning at Level 3 and beyond.
This course is not suited to those with no plastering experience. To apply for this course, applicants must already have developed skills with the use of plastering tools either
through previous work or training.
This is a full-time course.
CSCS cards provide proof that individuals working on construction sites have the appropriate training and qualifications for the job they do on-site.
If you do not already hold a CSCS Card we will support you through the application of gaining a trainee CSCS card. This will involve attending a one-day, Level 1 Health and Safety course, a health and safety touch screen test and applying for the trainee CSCS card.
We do not fund the CSCS card application, the cost for the test is £21.00 plus an additional £36.00 to obtain your CSCS card.

The assessment can be delivered during week 5 of the course if the tutor feels the skills and abilities developed are high enough to take the test.
All students will be supported on an individual basis and progress at different speeds on the course.
On successful completion, you will achieve a Level 2 Certificate for Plaster Skimmer, accredited by NOCN.
