As a plasterer, you apply different kinds of plaster to internal walls and ceilings so that they are ready for decorating. If you want a job in construction and you can work with your hands quickly and accurately, then this could be an ideal stepping stone to get you up-to-speed on the skills employers want. It also gives you an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the area you want to work in.

What does the course cover?

This Study Programme covers:

  • Health, safety and welfare in construction
  • Principles of building construction, information and communication
  • Apply plastering materials to interiors
  • Fix dry lining and plasterboards to interiors
  • Laying sand and cement screeds
  • Applying plastering materials to external backgrounds
  • Produce reverse moulds for fibrous work
  • Casting and fixing fibrous plasterwork
Will I receive an allowance?

Yes, you will receive an allowance of up to £25 per week. There may be additional bursaries that you can apply for.

What will I achieve?

On successful completion, you will achieve a City & Guilds Level 1 Diploma in Plastering.

What are the entry requirements?

Applicants must have achieved a GCSE Grade 2 and a minimum of Entry 3 in maths and English when completing the initial assessment upon enrolment.

How much does the course cost?

The course is FREE for anyone aged 16-18.
