About this opportunity

This is a true generalist role which bridges the gap between the HR department and the wider business and acts as a first point of contact for all HR queries. It is a great opportunity for a person who is meticulous and detail focused.

A normal day would include:

• Act as first point of contact to employees and managers to effectively deal with queries or identify the correct route of escalation
• Offer guidance to people managers to ensure compliance on people changes or issues such as absence management, performance management, family friendly leave (maternity, paternity and flexible working)
• Deal with various HR queries throughout the business and where necessary, produce HR documents – offer letters, reference letters, contract variation letters, salary and bonus letters, probation confirmation letters and leaver acknowledgement letters
• Work with the business to review and update job descriptions
• Advise managers on recruitment and selection strategies – support managers to write adverts, advertise roles, sift applications, arrange first line interviews, make verbal offers and complete offer documentation
• Coordinate the induction and onboarding process for all new starters – ensuring all employees are compliant and feel valued from day one.
• Work closely with the HR team to support HR projects – ensuring key stakeholders are engaged
• Support the team to update and develop policy in line with the values and culture of the business
• Support the centralisation project in Whitefield from a people perspective, i.e. recruitment, induction and daily mentoring of NVQ apprentices
• Work in conjunction with Whitefield Office Manager to support H&S across the business
• Administering training days from the Whitefield office e.g. manager development, performance training – meet and greet, registration, coordinating refreshments, taking notes, follow up surveys/feedback, reporting on next steps for individuals/teams
• Hosting and coordinating lunches – promotions/training/team upskilling events - meet and greet, registration, coordinating refreshments, taking notes, follow up surveys/feedback, reporting on next steps for individuals/teams
• Supporting recruitment by attending careers days in local schools/colleges/business showcases – following up from the day, newsletters to sign ups
• Involvement in the people conferences – people coordination, registration, manage attendance registers to provide insight into attendees/non attendees
• Development of LC Academy – sessions with current team members (apprentices as an example), coordinate, take notes and report on insights
• Coordinate sending new starter packs from Whitefield – welcome card, bottle, culture book
• Any other reasonable task or key accountabilities as required
