A fantastic opportunity is available at John Hogg in Trafford Park for a Finance Apprentice to join their team. This exciting role is a great step to building a career in accounting and finance and learn some excellent skills along the way.
A normal day would include:
Finance AP (50% of role)
• Supporting the Finance Administrator (AP) with invoice inputting; 3-way match and supplier payment process
• Reconciliation of supplier statements
• Support the Finance Administrator (AP) with Goods Received not Invoiced reconciliation
• Running the open purchase order report, chasing up receipts and ensuring that all purchase orders are receipted before close of month end
Finance AR (10% of role)
• Support the Finance Administrator (AR) with customer invoicing
• Support the Finance Administrator (AR) with daily cash entry
• Produce and issue monthly customer statements
Finance Administration Support (20%)
• Answer Finance department calls – 1st line
• Photocopying/filing and archiving
• Support the Management Accountant with all bank reconciliations (weekly and monthly)
• Input Finance related journals as requested
• Sending of e-mails and actions in order to eliminate finance queries
• Monitoring Finance emails, actioning where appropriate and escalating to other team members where necessary
• Check that all AP and AR groups are posted within ERP system
Business Administration Support (20% of role approx)
• Cover for reception duties (greeting and signing in visitors)
• Answering and directing phone calls, taking and disseminating messages
• Support for external meetings (ordering lunch, getting meeting room ready)
• Office stock maintenance (stationery, photocopier, canteen supplies) and ordering

Minimum of 5 GCSEs A*-C/9-4 including English and Maths
