An exciting opportunity to join 4 star The Queens Hotel Leeds as a Maintenance Apprentice. This role will see you supporting the maintenance manager with day-to-day maintenance jobs in the hotel.
You’ll be working with the Maintenance team to ensure the upkeep of the hotel. Works could include but not limited to painting & decorating, carpentry and plumbing. Each day will be different as you could be:
• Changing a light bulb
• Changing a shower head
• Repainting a room
• Fixing skirting boards and at times
• You could also be involved with full refurbishments and other projects
Health & safety will always be at the forefront of your mind.
During your programme and role with The Queens Hotel Leeds, you will:
• Be able to work and learn at the same time
• The course can be delivered at your hotel and remotely via Teams meetings rather than travelling to a college
• Learn how to maintain a property and understand the mechanisms of buildings including electrical, plumbing, plant, safety systems and equipment
Understand:
• Health & safety and compliance
• How to identify hazards
• Policies & procedures
• How to implement energy, environment and sustainable practices
• The safe use of hand tools
• The importance of the control of resources, stock and customer service
• Principles of planned preventative maintenance
• Reporting information accurately
• Fault finding
The programme will last a minimum of 12 months with an additional 3 months to complete your End Point Assessment.
After successful completion of your apprenticeship, you’ll have the opportunity to continue your story and carve out a career with us, either at The Queens or another property should a suitable opportunity become available.
