About this opportunity

A great opportunity has arisen at the East Manchester Academy for an Admin/Reprographics Assistant Apprentice who is reliable and conscientious to take a vital role within the school in a busy administration department.

Main Duties
• Provide a reprographics service to all staff as required, ie photocopying and collating documents to a high standard and ensuring a good quality of finish
• Providing a reception and telephone answering service (both internal and external) to ensure that all callers are dealt with promptly and the image of the school is enhanced
• Undertaking routine clerical support, for example, photocopying, filing, emailing and completing routine forms
• Undertake typing, word processing and other IT based tasks
• To collect and distribute incoming mail, despatch outgoing mail as appropriate
• To complete first aid training and be part of the first aid rota
• Be responsible for stock of paper, photocopier cartridges and other associated materials
• Be responsible for organising routine maintenance and repairs for photocopiers
• Be first point of contact for problems and queries with photocopiers.
• Laminate and collate documents for staff as requested
• Provide support to other members of the Administration Team as required.
• Cover for absent colleagues as required
• Undertake other clerical duties as requested to meet the needs of the academy

Continuing Professional Development – Personal
• In conjunction with your Line Manager, take responsibility for personal professional development, keeping up to date with research and developments related to the efficient running of the Academy building, which may lead to improvements in the day-to-day running
• Actively pursue own personal development and take full advantage of training provided
• Maintain a professional portfolio of evidence to support the Performance Management process – evaluating and improving own practice
• Participate in new initiatives and future changes in service delivery improvements to support the objectives of the Academy
• Undertake such duties as may be considered appropriate by the headteacher and members of SLT in line with the needs of the Academy

Generic Responsibilities for All Support Staff Roles
• To play a full and active part in the life of the school through contributions to initiatives, student facing projects and extra-curricular events, where appropriate or reasonably requested
• To complete duties such as; lunch or break supervision, before or after school duties as directed by the rotas
• To undertake CPD that is relevant to role and working with students and families
• To complete first aid training and be part of the first aid rota
• To work collaboratively and supportively with colleagues to achieve the vision and mission of the academy
• To undertake reasonable requests from the academy headteacher
