Bebee Wood started her journey with the Growth Company in 2013 when she enrolled on to a Level 2 Business Administration Apprenticeship working at the Royal Northern College of Music.
After completing her apprenticeship, Bebee continued to study and recently completed a Level 5 HR Consultant/Partner Apprenticeship underpinned by the CIPD Level 5 Intermediate Diploma in Human Resource Management, which is a fantastic achievement. Bebee wanted to gain in-depth knowledge and skills in Human Resources, which she could apply to her everyday working practice. This has enabled her to progress in her career and become a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
Speaking about her experiences, Bebee said: “Throughout my studies with the Growth Company, my experiences have all been very positive. I felt really supported throughout the entire process - from the very beginning in choosing the right apprenticeship/qualification level, through to the induction, in lesson with my Tutor/cohort, through to the work with my Skills Development Coach. There were always great resources available for each unit and my Tutor and Skills Development Coach were on-hand to provide any additional support and advice I needed.
At times, it was challenging managing my apprenticeship whilst also working full-time however, everyone at the Growth Company were very understanding and extremely supportive. This allowed me to manage both my work and apprenticeship effectively and complete my qualification.
The knowledge, experience, and confidence I have gained is invaluable. It has allowed me to develop and progress in my HR career and has also allowed myself and those in my cohort to create a diverse network of HR professionals, with individuals from different sectors and even different parts of the country.”
Skills Development Tutor, Joanne Mills said; “I first started supporting Bebee in January 2019 for the Level 5 HR Consultant/Partner Apprenticeship. On first meeting Bebee she came across as very professional and eager to learn but I quickly recognised that Bebee was not confident in her own ability.
We held monthly reviews whereby Bebee would discuss her experiences within her organisation and I set targets to try and stretch and challenge her to become a more rounded HR professional. Every month her confidence grew, Bebee went from strength to strength and surprised me at times at the level of commitment and motivation she had.
It was an absolute pleasure to support Bebee and I look forward to watching her career grow from strength to strength. I am are very proud of her achievement and I wish Bebee all the luck in the future.”
On what she would recommend to people thinking about applying for an apprenticeship, Bebee commented; “I would definitely recommend the Growth Company to others; they are a passionate and supportive education provider who provide a wide range of apprenticeships and qualifications.”
