FirstPlay Dietary Foods, a family-run business based in Stockport, manufactures low-protein food products for individuals following restricted diets. As part of their Executive Development Programme (now Pure Leadership) with GM Business Growth Hub, they identified the need to expand their finance department and saw the potential in training an apprentice.
Tom from FirstPlay Dietary Foods shared their experience:
“We had experience in the business to pass on, but we also wanted to bring new knowledge in.”
Through our recruitment team, FirstPlay Dietary Foods found Sadia, an apprentice with transferable skills that perfectly fit their business needs. Almost three years later, Sadia has completed her AAT Level 2 and is on track to complete Level 3.
Tom continued:
“An apprentice was the perfect choice for us. Sadia brought new knowledge from her workshops, which has been incredibly helpful. We’ve received great support from the tutors, not just in accountancy but in wider aspects too. Three years on, I couldn’t be happier with Sadia’s professional and personal development. I’m very proud of her and our business culture that has enabled her to flourish.”
Level 2 Accounts/Finance Assistant Apprenticeships: Ideal for integrating a dedicated member into your finance team. Apprentices will manage fundamental bookkeeping tasks, maintain sales/purchase ledgers, and handle cash recording and data entry.
Level 3 Assistant Accountant Apprenticeships: Perfect for those seeking a more experienced team member to aid internal and external clients. Tasks include data entry, preparing month-end management accounts, year-end financial statements, VAT returns, and supporting tax computations.
Whether you're looking to recruit a new apprentice or provide training for an existing employee, we're here to support you every step of the way.
