If you’re a qualified electrician with a level 3 Electrical Installation qualification, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, or equivalent, you can enrol on our Level 3 Award in the Installation of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic programme. You will gain hands-on experience and will work directly with our purpose-built solar PV roofing system, and develop the essential skills needed to effectively design, install, test, commission, hand over, service and fault-find a solar photovoltaic system.

Retrofit Technician
Greater Manchester has ambitious plans to achieve net zero carbon by 2038. In achieving this, plans will create and secure over 256,000 jobs across all sectors in the city region with 90,000 in retrofit alone.
Kickstart your career in this sector by enrolling on our Level 3 Domestic Retrofit programme. The course will give you an understanding of the basic principles of domestic retrofit and recognise, evaluate and make recommendations on introducing energy efficiency measures.
This course takes one week to complete and is available to employed people who live or work in Greater Manchester. Applicants do not need to be working in the Retrofitting industry; however, some basic construction knowledge and experience would be beneficial.
Wind Turbine Technician
The demand for wind turbine technicians in the UK has been steadily increasing in recent years due to the country's push towards renewable energy. As wind power continues to play an important role in the UK's energy mix, the need for skilled technicians who can install, maintain, and repair wind turbines has grown significantly.
