How long does an apprenticeship take to complete?

This depends on the type of apprenticeship and the level.

On average an apprenticeship can take up to 18 months, but may be longer for more advanced programmes.

How much does an apprentice cost?

You must pay apprentices at least the National Minimum Wage.

There’s different rates of pay for apprentices depending on their age and what year of their apprenticeship they’ve completed.

Where will an apprentice learn?

Depending on the type of apprenticeship the apprentice will learn through a combination of on-the-job learning and off-the-job training.

Off-the-job can be delivered either in one of our centres, or at your premises.

What commitment will I need to make?

When you recruit an apprentice it is a commitment for both the apprentice and you.

You will need to support them every step of the way and work with your dedicated apprenticeship assessor to ensure you are helping them achieve.

We are here to support you and your apprentice throughout their journey.

What support will I receive?

As mentioned, you will receive a dedicated assessor who will guide you through the entire process.

They will provide you with an apprenticeship delivery plan which will give you a step-by-step guide on what to expect along the way and all the support you may need.

What is the Apprenticeship Levy?

The Apprenticeship Levy is an amount paid at a rate of 0.5% of an employer’s annual pay bill.

Do I need to create an Apprenticeship Service account?

Yes.

The apprenticeship service is a government online service which will allow you to set up and manage your apprenticeships.

All apprenticeships in England must be managed through the apprenticeship service and you will need to set up an account in order to use the service.
