Employers recruit all year round so you can start an apprenticeship throughout the year.
The length of an apprenticeship varies, depending on your existing skills, the qualifications you are working towards, and the sector it is in. Generally, it will take between one and four years.
Like most other employees, apprentices will be given at least 20 days paid holiday per year as well as bank holidays.
Most apprentices attend some off-the-job training at one our training centres or partner colleges and this might be day release or a block of training all together. Some apprentices may complete all of their training in the workplace.
All employed apprentices are paid a salary directly by the employer. The current national minimum wage for an apprentice is £3.90 per hour, however we urge our employers to pay more than the national minimum wage.
All apprentices work full-time, between 30 and 40 hours per week.
