The course covers key theoretical elements of the Care Certificate, including understanding your role, working in a person-centred way, communication, privacy and dignity, safeguarding, health and safety, handling information, and infection prevention and control. Upon successful completion, you will receive a transcript outlining the Care Certificate standards you have covered, which can be shared with an employer.

Please note: The Care Certificate is only awarded by health and social care employers. It requires completion of all Care Certificate standards and a workplace assessment of knowledge and skills.

The Level 2 pathway is designed for individuals currently working in or preparing to enter the field of adult social care. It aims to provide foundational knowledge on various key areas related to adult social care, including communication, equality, diversity and inclusion, personal development, the role of the social care worker, handling information, health and safety, safeguarding, duty of care, and person-centred approaches. Voluntary Placement

Once you have completed the relevant pathway, you will undertake a voluntary placement in a social care setting, designed to function like a working interview. This placement offers you the chance to experience the working environment first hand. If you are satisfied with the employer and the working interview is successful, this voluntary placement will transition into a paid role with that employer.

Voluntary placements will be with a private adult social care employer in Greater Manchester.
