This PTLLS course is designed for new entrants to the lifelong learning sector. Covering the fundamental elements involved in planning, preparing and implementing learning in your subject area, our Level 4 course is designed to introduce you to the core ideas and knowledge underpinning a career in the teaching profession.

  • Roles, responsibilities and boundaries of the teacher
  • Different approaches to teaching and learning
  • Assessment techniques
  • Effective record-keeping
  • Introduction to lesson planning and preparing resources

The qualification is made up of a number of short, manageable assignments including a 15 minute observed session.

When will I attend?

The course requires 7 days of attendance (one day per week for 7 weeks) plus, some time must be dedicated to independent study.

Attendance is required every Friday, 10am - 2.30pm.

Attendees can either attend face-to-face at our GM SkillCentre in Trafford park or online via Zoom. Applicants must select their preferred delivery method during the application process.

 

What will I achieve?

On successful completion you will achieve a Level 4 Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS).

What are the entry requirements?

You should have a Level 3 qualification in a subject relevant to the area you wish to teach, along with relevant up-to-date experience in that specialism.
