Level 3 Certificate in Information, Advice or Guidance

This qualification will provide you with the skills and underpinning knowledge required by employers in a broad range of contexts where information, advice or guidance is provided.

This qualification is appropriate for learners who have responsibility for information, advice or guidance as part of their core work and for those who may be involved in general signposting within the sector.

It is also appropriate qualifications for those who may be giving advice in the Voluntary Sector, health workers and anyone in the advice giving sector who would benefit from a programme of study which reinforces good practice, provides underpinning knowledge and give formal recognition for learning and skills developed through experience.

Within Further Education, this qualification may be offered to staff who are involved in supporting young people with careers and personal choices such as teachers, lecturers, classroom / teaching support staff and learning mentors.

This course is fully funded for Greater Manchester and South Yorkshire residents who meet the eligibility criteria.

Greater Manchester 2024/2025 Funding Rules for Applicant Eligibility:

  • For learners aged 19+ on or before the 31st August 2024
  • Lived in a Greater Manchester postcode region
  • Lived in the UK for the last 3 years
  • Be either unemployed and employed applicants
  • If employed, must earn less than the current ‘low wage threshold’ of £32,200

South Yorkshire 2024/2025 Funding Rules for Applicant Eligibility:

  • 24+ on or before the 31st August 2024
  • Lived in a South Yorkshire postcode region (Barnsley, Doncaster, Sheffield or Rotherham)
  • Be either unemployed or Employed
  • If employed, must earn less than the current ‘low wage threshold’ of £30,476.96
  • Must not hold more than one Level 3 or higher qualification

What does the course cover?

To complete the NOCN Level 3 Certificate in Information, Advice or Guidance qualification you must complete the following units:

  • Applying Interaction Skills for Information, Advice or Guidance
  • Information, Advice or Guidance - Principles and Practice
  • Information, Advice or Guidance Work with Groups
  • Advice or Guidance Centre devised Information
  • Managing, Accessing and Creating Information Resources in Information, Advice or
    Guidance
  • Referral in Information, Advice or Guidance Practice

This course is delivered online. 

 

What will I achieve?

Upon successful completion, you will achieve an NOCN Level 3 Certificate in Information, Advice or Guidance.
