This qualification is for those currently employed in the plumbing and domestic heating
industry, providing the necessary training to develop their existing skills.

You'll be required to demonstrate the necessary abilities, skills, and knowledge to be able to plan, select, install and commission air source heat pump systems. In addition to this, you'll also
demonstrate a knowledge of service, maintenance and fault diagnosis and fault rectification of air
source heat pump systems.

The qualification is recognised by the Micro-generation Certification Scheme (MCS) registration bodies as an acceptable qualification to join one of their respective schemes.

What does the course cover?

This course covers:

  • Know the requirements to size, select, install, commission and handover air
    source heat pump systems (non-refrigerant circuits).

  • Plan, prepare, install, commission, and maintain air source heat pump systems
    (non-refrigerant circuits).
What are the entry requirements?
  • You should have a minimum NVQ Level 2/3 qualification in plumbing or conventional heating engineering, or a demonstrable number of years of relevant experience
  • Completes a Water Regs UK Water Regulations/Water Byelaws or equivalent course
What will I achieve?

On successful completion, you will achieve a Bpec Level 3 Award in Air Source Heat Pump Systems (non-refrigerant Circuits).
