Level 2 Computer Programming

This FREE* course is for anyone who wants to develop and extend their digital skills to prepare themselves for employment in a wide variety of roles in the digital and creative industries.

With a focus on computer programming, you will learn about the principles of computer programming to understand how programming works.

On this course you will also develop text-based programming skills to design and develop your own computer programs.

WHAT DOES THE COURSE COVER?

This course is designed to introduce you to the world of computer programming. 

On this 6-week course, you will:  

  • Understand the principles of programming 
  • Be able to design a program in response to a client brief 
  • Be able to develop a program using a text-based programming language 
  • Be able to test, refine, document and review the program
WHEN WILL I ATTEND?

This is a part-time course which is delivered from 5:30 - 7:30pm, online.

You will be required to attend virtually for 8 hours per week.

WHAT ARE THE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS?

To apply for this course, you must have a GCSE Grade 4/A* or above in maths and English.

What will I achieve?

On successful completion, you will achieve a Level 2 Award in Digital and IT Skills.

How much does the course cost?

*This course is FREE to individuals (including those who are employed on the day they start their programme of learning) who:

  • Are a Greater Manchester Resident
  • Aged 19+
  • Earns less than £20,888

For anyone else, the course is £300.
