This Study Programme is for school or college leavers aged 16 to 18 who wish to progress on to a level 3 course or apprenticeship in health and social care or it could get you to get your first job in the sector.

If you have a passion for care or would like to work in the Adult Health and Social Care sector, then this is the course for you.

The Study Programme is based around you and your career pathway. Your tutor will work with you to provide you with the tools that you need to achieve your goals, you will attend CV and interview workshops to learn valuable employment skills.

What does the course cover?

To successfully achieve this course you must complete 9 core themed units:

  • Principles of Communication
  • Principles of Personal Development
  • Principles of Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion
  • Principles of Safeguarding
  • Principles of Duty of Care
  • Understand the Role of the Social Worker
  • Understand Person Centre Approaches
  • Understand Health and Safety in Social Care
  • Understand how to Handle Information in Social Care
What will I achieve?

On successful completion, you will achieve a Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Health and Social Care.

You can also gain qualifications in Employability Skills, Maths and English.

What are the entry requirements?

You must have Level 1 qualifications in maths and English (equivalent to Grade 3 GCSE) or to be working at a level 1 standard, this will be assessed during induction.

When will I attend?

Attendance is required Monday - Friday, 9.30 am – 4 pm each day.

Each centre has a free Breakfast Club starting at 9 am – 9.30 am.

How much does the course cost?

The course is FREE for anyone aged 16-18.
