Throughout the course you'll learn to the Excel spreadsheet program, which provides you with tools to organise, analyse, present, and store data. You'll be able to create a new spreadsheet, work with basic formulas and functions, and make your spreadsheets look professional and presentable.

When does the course start?

This course can be started at any time, however, the next intake will begin in November 2023. 

What does the course cover?
  • Using Excel, you'll develop an understanding of techniques to be able to produce spreadsheets.
  • Learn how to apply advanced formulae and functions to process data and use automated tools to aid productivity.
  • Explore big data and how it is analysed and manipulated by organisations to predict patterns and trends.
  • Learn about data analysis techniques and how they can be used to collect, cleanse, manipulate and present findings.
  • Be able to create a spreadsheet to improve productivity.
  • Be able to review and refine a spreadsheet to improve usability.
What will I achieve?

On successful completion, learners will achieve a Level 2 Award in Digital and IT Skills. Learners can then progress on to our Skills Bootcamp in Data and Cloud.

What are the entry requirements?

This course is suitable for anyone aged 16 and over and learners should have access to a computer with Microsoft Excel and the Internet. 

Where will I study?

This is a part-time course and is delivered online for one day a week.
