This is a government funded programme which has been designed to support your development and skills when working in a finance or accountancy role and is a natural progression from Level 2.

The course brings together a wealth of knowledge, skills and behaviours that will help you feel more confident when processing and preparing financial information.

Whilst your job role will involve assisting in the day to day financial activities such as data entry to month end management accounts and/or year-end financial statements, this course will enhance your knowledge of regulatory financial requirements, communication and IT skills, financial accounting and reporting and management accounting.

The tuition to support your learning is classroom based.

What does the course cover?

The course covers a range of knowledge, skills and behaviours that can be applied in the workplace and is supported by elements of an AAT full qualification covering:

  • Business Awareness
  • Financial Accounting
  • Preparing Financial Statements
  • Management Accounting Techniques
  • Tax Processes for Business

You will complete a knowledge component exam, answering 40 questions and take part in an independent professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence based on knowledge, skills and behaviours relating to your job role.

When will I attend?

This is mainly a work based qualification with attendance required half a day per week.

What will I achieve?

On successful completion all apprentices will achieve a Level 3 Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship and AAT Diploma in Accounting.

What are the entry requirements?

Ideally, you will hold a minimum of 5 GCSE's grade C/4 or equivalent.

You must be employed in either a finance or accountancy role and be able to meet the 9 duties of the standards.

How much does the course cost?

There isn't a cost to learners. Employers will pay a contribution to the cost of the apprenticeship. Please get in touch for further information.
