An excellent opportunity to learn unique skills that are always in demand throughout the engineering industry. Learning to wind all types of electric motors and progressing on to the repair of other types of rotating equipment including gearboxes.
A normal day would include:
• Inspect and test equipment to locate damage or worn parts and diagnose malfunctions
• Disassemble defective equipment so that repairs can be made, using hand tools
• Reassemble repaired electric motors to specified requirements and ratings, using hand tools and electrical meters
• Rewind coils on cores in slots, or make replacement coils, using coil-winding machines
• Repair and rebuild defective mechanical parts in electric motors, generators, and related equipment
What you could go on to do: you will grow in size and complexity of motor and could also help our site teams undertake work on site.
Future prospects: RJW Engineering look to retain all apprentices when they complete the course.

We have a range of experienced staff who are very experienced in both the work they do and in training the apprentices we take on.
