About this opportunity

Working within the pension administration team, the role will involve preparing computer generated benefit calculations, arranging payments to be made and working alongside experienced administrators to develop professional skills.

Responsibilities:

Here are just a few of the day-to-day tasks you can be involved in:

• The preparation of computer-generated benefit calculations and related correspondence
• Communicating with clients, their members and advisers via email, letter, and telephone
• Process client pensioner payrolls, including calculations of net pay, arranging payments, liaison with tax offices and preparation of year end returns
• Attending team meetings to understand the priorities and offering support as required
• Plus, lots more including project work

Working with our training provider, you will study for the Workplace Pensions Administrator Level 3 qualification. The programme is well structured with the support of a skills coach, friendly mentors, and line managers to ensure you succeed in your role and study.

There are lots of opportunities to develop into beyond your apprenticeship – these can include progressing through the business area you completed your apprenticeship in or transferring to a different business area. You will be encouraged to continue to study and develop your skills if you wish to do so.

Full training and support will be provided by The Growth Company to help you achieve your apprenticeship and reach your full potential in your role.

What you should have to apply

5 GCSE’s Grade 4/C or equivalent including Maths and English
Ideally, educated up to A-Level standard with grade C or higher in 2 or more subjects

Personal Qualities

Strong communicators with the ability to build effective working relationships with external clients as well as your team members and you will be keen to develop new skills. You could already have some of these skills through a part time job, work experience/volunteering or any hobbies/interests you have.

Skills

You will need to be customer-focused with good attention to detail. You will demonstrate a positive attitude with a pro-active and organised approach and with good problem-solving skills.
