GC Stories: Chloe Crompton

18 Jul 2018
This week, our first group of Staffordshire business management students will be donning their cap and gown for their graduation ceremony at Staffordshire University.

Chloe Crompton, marketing and communications executive here at The Growth Company, graduated yesterday with first class honours – and we’re so proud of what she has achieved.

In the beginning

Chloe did a digital marketing and social media apprenticeship with us back in 2013, where she played a key role in the Education & Skills team.

She impressed her managers throughout her apprenticeship, and gained further responsibility once she completed the course. However, Chloe didn’t want her learning to stop there.

Continuing her education

Whilst holding down her full-time job, Chloe completed a foundation degree in business management before moving onto the BA honours business management top-up which was delivered in partnership with Staffordshire University. Whilst working towards her degree, Chloe also gained a promotion – so she had plenty to keep her busy!

Celebrating success

3 years of hard work paid off, and Chloe was awarded a first class honours degree at her graduation ceremony yesterday.

Speaking of her fantastic achievement, Chloe said: "I'm over the moon to have graduated with a first class honours degree. Doing a degree part-time while working was hard work but I'm so glad I've done it!"

“I loved how the degree was so varied - each module was different and it was fun to learn about the different aspects of business”.

Career progression

Chloe is currently excelling in her role as marketing and communications executive, and she is working towards her goal of becoming a marketing manager – something which her business management degree will have prepared her well for.

She’s also glad that she completed her degree whilst working full-time, rather than going down the traditional university route after college.

She added: “I'm really happy that I chose this route as opposed to going to university after college. I think it's helped me to progress in my career a lot quicker and I'm grateful for the support I've received from GC throughout the course."
