The fun day was organised by The Growth Company and Rochdale Football Club to help raise money for the hospice. We’re very happy to say that £527.93 was raised.
Students at our Rochdale training centre helped to organise the day and it was a big achievement for them all. Frances Fielding at Rochdale Football Club said, “It was a terrific day and the students did a tremendous job organising the stalls and the marketing leading up to the event. The entire day was a huge success!”
As well as the family fun day, The Growth Company have been working closely with Rochdale FC over the summer. The students have been involved in various activities there - including voluntary work, such as litter picking and maintenance around Crown Oil Arena.
Mike Nichols, key worker at Rochdale training centre, was over the moon with the results of the fun day. Speaking of its success, he said:
“The learners really excelled in supporting the family fun day. One of the learners, Katarina Pestova, is a skilled artist and created a football goal shooting board that went down well on the day. Other learners approached local businesses for raffle prizes and really engaged on the day. Overall the success was down to the attitude and passion from the learners here at Rochdale training centre."
