Site Carpentry Apprenticeship

This Level 2 Apprenticeship is for anyone who is wishing to pursue a career in carpentry and joinery.

As a Site Carpenter, you will prepare and install basic building components e.g. doors, straight staircases, wall and floor units, and erecting structural carpentry and roof structures on a building site or in domestic and commercial premises.

This occupation is found in both the new build and refurbishment construction sector. The construction industry is central to creating the homes, schools, hospitals, energy and transport infrastructure society needs. There is a growing demand for carpenters and joiners to help meet the need for new homes.

What does the course cover?

This Level 2 Apprenticeship covers the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for the trade. You can find the full details here.



What will I achieve?

On successful completion, you will achieve an NVQ Level 2 in Site Carpentry.

As a qualified site carpenter, you will be eligible for a blue skilled worker CSCS card which will allow you to work on-site. You may also be able to progress the Advanced Site Carpentry Apprenticeship.

What are the entry requirements?

There are no formal grade requirements however, if you do not hold a level 2 in English and maths will need to achieve this prior to taking the end-point assessment.
