A Motor Vehicle Technician services and repairs light vehicles such as cars and vans and will work either in dealerships that focus on a particular manufacturer, or for an independent garage that deals with many different makes of vehicles.
They work on all the systems found within the vehicle. The nature of the work ranges from replacing simple parts to solving complex faults with the use of diagnostic methods and equipment.

On this apprenticeship programme you will develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours expected from a competent Light Vehicle Service & Maintenance Technician, these include:
Attendance is required 1 day per week.
On successful completion, you will achieve a Level 3 Light Vehicle Service & Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship.
Ideally, you will have a minimum of 5 GCSE's grade 4/C or above or level 2 equivalent including maths and English.
If you do not hold the recommended English and maths qualifications then, you will need to achieve these prior to taking the end-point assessment.
