The qualifications purpose is to:

  • prepare you or progression to a qualification in the same sector or a related area at a higher level
  • prepare you for employment within different roles in the digital and creative industries and in other industries that require specific digital and IT skills within Networking and Cybersecurity

What does the course cover?

This course is designed to support your development in to the world of Cyber Security and Networking.

You will complete the following units:

  • Project Management (Networking and Cyber Security)
  • Networking
  • Network Threats and Vulnerabilities
  • Data Communications
  • Ethical Hacking
  • Cybersecurity Operational Fundamentals
What will I achieve?

On successful completion, you will achieve a Level 3 Certificate in Networking and Cybersecurity.

What are the entry requirements?

There are no entry requirements for this course, however, you will need access to the following:

  • A computer 
  • Microsoft Teams
  • Microsoft Office Software 
where will I study?

This course is delivered online on the following dates and times:

  • Tuesdays, 5.30pm – 8.30pm

  • Wednesdays, 5.30pm – 6.30pm

  • Thursdays, 5.30pm – 8.30pm
How much does the course cost?

This course is fully funded for Greater Manchester and South Yorkshire residents who meet the eligibility criteria.

Greater Manchester 2023/2024 Funding Rules for Applicant Eligibility:

  • For learners aged 19+ on or before the 31st August 2023
  • Lived in a Greater Manchester postcode region
  • Lived in the UK for the last 3 years
  • Be either unemployed and employed applicants
  • If employed, must earn less than the current ‘low wage threshold’ of £31,600
  • Must not hold more than one Level 3 or higher qualification

 

South Yorkshire 2023/2024 Funding Rules for Applicant Eligibility:

  • 24+ on or before the 31st August 2023
  • Lived in a South Yorkshire postcode region (Barnsley, Doncaster, Sheffield or Rotherham)
  • Be either unemployed or Employed
  • If employed, must earn less than the current ‘low wage threshold’ of £21,225
  • Must not hold more than one Level 3 or higher qualification
