Level 3 Certificate in Understanding Mental Health

This course is fully funded for Greater Manchester residents who meet the eligibility criteria.

Greater Manchester 2024/2025 Funding Rules for Applicant Eligibility:

  • For learners aged 19+ on or before the 31st August 2024
  • Lived in a Greater Manchester postcode region
  • Lived in the UK for the last 3 years
  • Be either unemployed and employed applicants
  • If employed, must earn less than the current ‘low wage threshold’ of £32,200

When does the course start?

Course 1

Course Start Date: Monday 23 June 2025 - this course will be delivered at the Green Skills Academy, Trafford Park

Applicants must be available to attend the assessment session on Thursday 19 June.

Course 2 

Course Start Date: Monday 14 July 2025 - this course will be delivered at the Anthony Seddon Centre, Ashton under Lyne, Tameside

Applicants must be available to attend the assessment session on Wednesday 9 July.

What does the course cover?

To successfully complete the Level 3 Certificate in Understanding Mental Health, you must complete the following 6 mandatory units:

  • Principles for implementing duty of care in health, social care or children's and young people's setting
  • Understand care and support planning and risk management in mental health
  • Understand mental health interventions 
  • Understand mental health problems
  • Understanding mental well-being and mental health promotion
  • Understand the legal, policy and service framework in mental health

 

 

Attendance

The Level 3 Certificate in Understanding Mental Health will run over two weeks: 

  • Days: Monday to Friday

  • Time: 9.30am – 2.30pm daily

  • Tutor Support: Available until 5.00pm each day for additional help or study time

 

What are the entry requirements?

There are no specific entry requirements for this course, however you should have a Level 1 qualification in maths and English.

 

What will I achieve?

Upon successful completion, you will achieve a TQUK Level 3 Certificate in Understanding Mental Health.
