This Skills Bootcamp in Cyber Security Practices is designed to provide you with knowledge and skills relating to cyber security practices. It will provide you with a chance to develop your knowledge and learn practical skills which can be used to seek employment or proceed into study at a higher level.

With the increasing headlines surrounding cybercrimes and data breaches, the importance of knowledge of cybercrime is invaluable. A Cyber Security Advisor plans and carries out security measures to protect a company’s network and systems. They will also keep constant tabs on threats and monitor an organisations networks and breaches in security.

This Bootcamp aims to:
• focus on the study of the practices within cyber security
• offer breadth and depth of study, incorporating a key core of knowledge
• provide opportunities to acquire a number of practical skills


The objective of this Bootcamp is to:
• provide you with an opportunity to develop knowledge and skills
relating to cyber security practices

WHEN DOES THE COURSE START?

  • Wednesday 3 August 2002
  • Wednesday 9 November 2022
WHAT DOES THE COURSE COVER?

Within this 12-week Bootcamp we will help you to understand:

  • Key terminology and legislation used in cyber security and understanding and the consequences and implications of inadequate cyber security
  • The Threat Model and the behaviours and effects of malicious software
  • How to reduce or remove a cyber security vulnerability and how to apply a cyber security control
  • Cyber security incident response plans and how to carry out a cyber security incident post mortem
  • The behaviours and skills expected within cyber security

 

You will complete the following units:

  • Understand cyber security principles
  • Threat intelligence in cyber security
  • Cyber security testing, vulnerabilities and controls
  • Cyber security incident response
  • Understand legislation and ethical conduct within cyber security
  • Professional skills and behaviours for cyber security
When will I attend?

Attendance is required Monday to Friday, 10am - 1pm. 

What will I achieve?

On successful completion of this course, you will achieve a Certificate of Completion.

Progression

If you successfully complete this qualification, you could progress  on to:

• Level 4 Diploma in Cyber Security
• Level 4 Certificate for IT Professionals
• Level 4 Certificate in Information and Cyber Security Foundations
• Level 4 Certificate in Cyber Security and Intrusion for Business.

What are the entry requirements?
  • You must hold a GCSE Grade C/4 or above in maths and English
  • You must be able to commit to attending 2 days per week for the duration of the course
How much does the course cost?
This course is fully funded if you:
  • Are aged 19+
  • Are not currently in education, training, or stable employment (we accept those with contracts of 16 hours or less)
  • Have the legal right to work & live in the UK
