This qualification will support you embark on your first experience of work in the Health, Adult Care and Child Care sectors.

You will gain an understanding of the Health, Adult Care and Child Care sectors alongside gaining essential employability knowledge and skills.

When does the course start?

The start date will depend on which Training Centre you wish to study at. Please contact your preferred Centre for further information.

What does the course cover?

To achieve this qualification, you must achieve credits made up of mandatory and optional units, your Tutor will go through this with you in more detail.

Units include:

  • Introduction to working in health care, adult care and childcare
  • Introduction to safeguarding in health care, adult care and childcare
  • Introduction to working in a person-centred way in health and adult care
  • Effective communication
  • Interview skills
  • Searching for a job
  • Career progressions
  • Developing skills in caring for young children

If you do not hold the relevant English and maths qualifications, you will work towards them as part of this programme.

 

When will I attend?

This is a full-time course.

What will I achieve?

On successful completion, you will achieve either a Level 1 or Level Certificate for Working in Health, Adult and Child Care Sectors depending on the level you were enrolled on. 

You will be able to understand and demonstrate suitable work, personal skills, attitudes, thinking and behaviour.

You will be more confident at interview, completing an applications and on your first day working in the sector.

Will I receive an allowance?

Yes, you will receive an allowance of up to £50 per week.

What are the entry requirements?

There are no formal entry requirements however, you will need to attend an informal interview.

How much does the course cost?

The course is FREE for anyone aged 16-18.
